[A/S] Stolen hitch

Hi Mike,

Your comment reminded me of a very vocal conversation I overheard in a
campground. My neighboring RVer sounded like he was chewing out HIS
neighbor for driving around town with his Reese hitch still in the
receiver.

As the conversation dragged on, I realized my neighbor was actually
trying to be helpful. He was listing reasons for never leaving the
hitch in the receiver when going to town without the trailer.

1 - A trailer hitch is worth at least $40 to a drug addict.

2 - When parked in a supermarket parking lot, another vehicle can pull
up behind the RVers tow vehicle and unintentionally bump the hitch and
crack the body, knock off one of the ears or loosen/crack/break the
ball -- all unbeknownst to the RV owner AND the driver of the other
vehicle.

3 - When rolling down and out of a steep parking lot with a concrete
storm gutter and turning to accelerate up and into the flow of traffic,
the hitch's lowest point can catch on the concrete storm gutter and
damage or crack the hitch -- all unbeknownst to the RV owner.

There are probably more reasons, but these are the ones I remember.
