Re: [A/S] towing with a jeep-trying again

The Tundra is not a heavy duty truck. The running gear isn't heavy duty. The
engine isn't really suited for towing. The transmission isn't heavy duty.

I'd avoid it if possible. I would be afraid of mechanical trouble if you did
any towing. There really aren't any non big-3 vehicles that can really be
called decent tow vehicles. Most are pretty marginal at best.

As an example... tell your Toyota dealer you used a load-equalizing hitch on
your Tacoma, and your entire truck warranty is instantly voided. Jeep was
doing this for a while on some of it's vehicles, too.

Let me second the motion about the F-150. It's a fine vehicle, a real truck
with heavy duty running gear, it rides well, and has a great interior. (Not
to mention that you'll have every guy you pass wishing he was riding
shotgun.) You can get it, tow with it, and enjoy it.

Your questions about rear-end ratio have already been answered. If you've got
further questions... ask away.
