Hi Chas,

Thanks for the comeback. For several years, we made the round trip run 
from Upstate New York to Colorado Springs using the Suburban with our 
Safari. The Suburban is such a comfortable trouble free vehicle that we 
forget about the heart pounding performance our Mercury provides.

The last long trip with our Mercury was towing our '69 27' Airstream on 
the Alaska Caravan. It handled our Airstream with ease at every 
altitude. We loved how the a/c blew snowflakes at us one hot day along 
the Wind River highway going into the Tetons (10,000 ft). The Mercury 
is our Summer tow vehicle when we want pure, unadulterated, no nonsense 
performance.

All three of our tow vehicles are mechanically mint except the Mercury 
which is also in near showroom condition. I love my old vehicles as do 
the mechanics in our performance garage. I passed your suggestion along 
to them. They told me that's just what I need - another tow vehicle for 
our stable. Not! <grin>
