[A/S] LR-D tires on LR-C rims

After the discussions with Andy from Inland, about putting LR-D tires on
rims that had LR-C tires, I wrote to Walt Barksdale in Ocala, and to the
Goodyear customer service.
Walt went to his tire man, who said it was not a problem, that the 15"
rims would take 75-80 psi easily.
The Goodyear customer-service man said the same thing, that the extra 15
psi would not pose a problem.
I did not ask the Goodyear man if running the LR-D tires at 50-55 psi
would cause any problem; perhaps I should have. In any event, maybe the
fact that my rims came on a '95 trailer, not a vintage unit, makes a
difference. I did ask the Goodyear man if there were ratings for the
rims. He said that there were, but that he did not know where to find them
on the rims, nor what coding might be used.
So, I'm not completely convinced either way yet; I may reduce the tire
pressure yet, since my trailer weighs in at about 8,200 #, which on 4 tires
comes to 2,050 #/tire, which would easily be carried at 55 psi, according
to Goodyear's load tables for my ST225/75R15 tires.
