[A/S] New Microwave Story

Hi Gang,

Well, much angst over buying a new microwave. What I really want to do is
get a new 28' trailer and move all my cabinetry into it... okay, my second
choice is to remodel the kitchen in here.

Take out the big stove/oven combo and replace it with a two burner cooktop
(Like in the Sprint) and out a microwave/convection oven under it where the oven
is now.

That would free up a huge storage space over the fridge. I also would put in
a new kitchen counter and a new sink. All this will happen but not until
fall. I'm hitting the road on Monday for the summer adventure.

So, back to the microwave. I called around and found a few Dometics. I
decided I want a Dometic because it's a closed in space and RV microwaves are
vented forward. The prices were astronomical. 349.00 to 399.00!!!!! Yeowser.
Remember, I just want it for 6 months.

I headed to Wally World and for the heck of it stopped at some RV places here
in Ocala. No one had one for less.....

My last stop before Walmart was a large RV dealer..... full of SOBs.

I went in and asked if they had any microwaves. The nice lady said no, but
they could order me one. Well, it's Thursday and I'm leaving on Monday so no
good. I thanked her and turned to leave when I saw it......

A black Dometic, on a card table, surrounded by coffee makings.

"There's the one I want!" I exclaimed.

"Oh, we took that out of a coach when the people wanted a
convection/microwave instead."

It was perfect, I measured it.... well...a little deep but close enough.

I proposed a deal. "What if I go buy you a brand new microwave, would you
trade me this one for a new one?"

She thought about it and said, "Sure... but get a small one, this one is too
big and too much power."

My ship had come in. I drove to Target and got a $44.95 little Whirlpool
microwave with lots of bells and whistles.. (Remember when they cost thousands and
were the size of a Bambi?).

I drove back and became the proud owner of a slightly used Dometic.....

Walt and I are going to fool with the back of the cabinet to make it go back
further.

Cool huh?
