I've had Carlisle ST225-75-15 load range D radial tires on my '77 Excella 
500 31' for 4 years now.  I've put a little over 5,000 miles on them.  
Coming back from a mini rally at Cloudland Canyon, GA. last Oct. I had a 
blowout on the streetside front tire.  It blew a chunk out half from the 
tread and half from the sidewall.  The tires were aired up a around 54 lbs. 
and the only thing I could figure out is that I started a slow leak, the 
tire overheated and blew.  I immediately felt the other 3 tires and hubs and 
all were OK.

I replaced the blown tire with another Carlisle ST225-75-15 but this one had 
a slightly different tread design.  I've put another 500 miles on it and no 
problem.
