Those of us old enough will remember the 1960's "Breaker/Breaker Good Buddy"
CB silliness will also remember that Radio Shack seemed to make the majority
of their sales revenue from selling CB's to us. Thus when I needed a CB for
my trailer, of course I went to my neighborhood Radio Shack. Imagine my
surprise when the manager told me that he didn't think he had any in his
store and that it was his understanding that Radio Shack was not going to
stock them anymore!! I ended up finding mine at a friendly Flying J truck
stop, with lots of requested input from the truckers in the store. I forget
the brand name, but settled on a hand held model thinking that when not on
the road it would be easy to store away. Now I think I'd prefer the old
under-the-dash version. With the hand-held, I feel like I've got an upturned
spaghetti bowl all around me, what with the antenna wire and the power
plug's wire going to the hand held unit. Clutters up the truck's cab.
