One last thing, I would not attempt swinging the arms down in gusty winds.
If the winds are mild, have another people hold onto the arm to prevent the
wind from lifting the awning upwards at the disconnected side while the
other person attaches it to the ground brackets.  Once the arms are attached
to the ground securely, you will be amazed at how much less wind is noticed
inside the trailer since half the forces that used to be directed to the
trailer are now directed into the ground.
