RE: [A/S] RV Cover-- Alcoa Aluminium Coating

Brett,

I wonder was the trailer, like yours, with the peeling
problem from a northern climate? I bought my trailer
from Florida, used, about 3-4 years ago. It was
showing no signs of peeling.

The trailer’s first winter, in PA, I stored it indoors
at the local fairgrounds. When I went to pick it up
in the spring I was stunned to see how much the finish
had deteriorated (indoors!) over the winter. It was
mainly noticeable on the front top.

When I was in Jackson Center, someone there told me
the cold weather plays a big part in the clear coat
peeling because it makes the aluminum metal expand (or
contract?) and that exasperates the peeling process.

Since Sam said he has kept his trailer in FL and CA in
the winters and mine first showed signs the very first
winter up north, I'm starting to wonder if the cold
may play a *big part* in the peeling process. Do you
think this could be a major factor?
