Re: [A/S] Airstream Floor
Greetings Hunter!
I suspect that Airstream may have been a bit disuaded by their
experience with the Aluminum Composite floors that they utilized in
the 1977-1979 Argosy Minuets (most but not all 6.0 Metre Minuets,
and some but far from all 6.7 Metre Minuets) - - the large sheets of
meterial tended to develop sags over time, and in the larger coaches
could be a bit "springy" between the floor supports. I know that it
isn't the same material that is utilized in horse trailers or U-Haul
trailers either -- last year when I rented a U-Haul, I thought that
the alumium flooring that they used in that trailer would work well
in an Airstream -- the only down-side that I could see was that it
would be nearly impossible to use floor coverings other than
carpeting or laminates (I have Armstrong Laminate floor covering in
my Minuet with the composite aluminum floors and it has performed
well through its first two seasons.
