JR - You are right about the rear on the Duramax - I've read so much 
and quoted soooo much to my husband that it's now all starting to run 
together - LOL.  This weekend we are going to go drive the Duramax 
shortbed Silverado and the Quadrasteer Surburban (can you believe we 
found them both at a local dealer) - the other Surburban we drove was 
just a 1500 - we just wanted to get the feel of it.  I think we are 
seriously leaning towards the Duramax - but still having a hard time 
giving up that 3rd seat - decisions, decisions, decisions.  

And Jim - I loved your outlook on trucks.  My husband went from a 
corvette to a van to a truck and wouldn't trade the truck for anything 
in the world.  Today's trucks are definitely top of the line in comfort 
and style, but still sturdy and useful in so many ways.  

Well, since we aren't in a big hurry, we'll keep reading, test driving, 
and then finally spending $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.
