[A/S] Mystery leak up front
I have a 1979 31' International and have been baffled by a body leak
up front for some time now. I've done a lot of sealing with Parrbond
in all the usual places. Still, the leak is there.
In order to see the leak, I have to remove the bins under the front
gaucho and peek in there with a flashlight and mirror. In case you
wonder how I found this leak to begin with, I had partially
disassembled the gaucho a while back to access the battery charger.
Water seeps in under the front inner bulkhead between the battery
boxes and the front corners. This happens on both sides of the
trailer. Some may also be coming in at the center, between the two
battery boxes, but the univolt compartment is in the way so I can't
tell for sure.
Here are all the places I've sealed so far: Clearance lights, a few
suspicious seems and rivits above the front windows and on front
corners, all around the curved corner windows, top of front flat
window, mitered joints in front window frames, belt line trim, bottom
trim, univolt vent, around battery box doors, and inside the battery
boxes where the plastic body meets the metal door frame.
I know that finding and sealing leaks in an RV can be a daunting
task, yet I've been able to seal all the other leaks I had and these
are the last ones to go. Is there any usual place for leaks up
front, or maybe just up on the roof that will run down? The trailer
is parked and level when I get these leaks.
