I don't see a problem with using a plate from another trailer to tow a newly 
purchased trailer home. The plate will identify the owner in case of an 
accident. Lets face it, you can't buy a plate for the newly purchased trailer until 
you get it home. My insurance company has never asked for my plate number, 
only the VIN number. I called my insurance company before I left Ohio with my 
nearly purchased Airstream. I towed it home to Georgia. They did not asked for a 
plate number because I did not have one to give them.
