After buying my 1976A/S and bring it home back in 2000 I knew it still had
the original drapes that came with it. They looked dingy but I though a
little TLC and I bet they will look as good as new.
I used cold water and wool lite as well and washed them on the gentle cycle.
I couldn't wait to see the results when the washer stopped. When I opened
the lid and looked in there was very little left of the drapes. They
basically disintegrated. Oh well they had lasted almost 25 years. I hope I
can get that type of ware from the new drapes I bought from James Ambrusco
which look great.
