The "type" construction of an Airstream trailer, remains the same. 
It's still semi-monocoque.

The method of construction that Airstream now uses, according to 
them, increases the construction efficiency, without any design 
compromise.

Aircraft do not have a one piece rib, or bow. They are also in 
sections, as well as the fuselage. 

How they are joined together, is the what matters.
