I also have a water tank leak and was able to find it by peeking down 
the hole where the filler inlet goes down to the tank, and the supply 
hose to the pump and level sensor wires come up.

The water tank is built like a large molded plastic tub with a flat 
sheet of plastic glued to the top that closes it all in.  Evidently 
my glue joint has cracked loose in at least one place.  The only time 
water leaks out is if the tank is overfilled, and then it just leaks 
down to the full level.  I assume that some will ooze out when towed 
and the water is loshing around, but that isn't noticable.  Sice I 
can still fill the tank all the way, I have no plans to make repairs 
any time soon.

The filler inlet is on the side of my tank, close to the top.  If 
your tank leaks until it's 3/4 full, I suspect that your leak is at 
the filler inlet.  It could also be that a level sensor has come 
loose.  You should be able to verify this by looking thru the opening 
in the floor near the water pump, or you may have an access panel on 
the bottom of the trailer.

If either one of the items I mentioned is the source of the leak, you 
should be able to repair it from above or below.  Removing that belly 
enclosure and dropping the tank sounds like a lot of work.
