RE: [A/S] Bike rack on front of tow vehicle

Hi List,
I did the same thing by putting a hitch receiver on the front of my GMC
truck, then not using it except for a very short test run. I did not like
the distraction of the constant movement on the front of the truck. I have
posted my solution of 1/2 of the purchased square receiver mounted bide rack
and 1/2 custom made mounts for the back of the truck that mounts on the tie
down bars I have along the sides of the bed of the truck. This ends up
mounting the two bikes cross ways over the top of my Roll - N - Lock flush
mounted top bed cover up near the cab end of the bed. The custom made parts
are just some thick walled aluminum pipe with adapters to hold the purchased
bike rack parts welded in the center, and fishing rod holder clamps welded
to the ends to fasten to the side rails along the sides of the truck. The
custom made parts were made at a local boat top builder welding shop.
