Ed,
The problem with Directv is that their channel lineup (including their HDTV
content) is spread across three different satellites.  Each channel resides
on a specific bird and when watching that channel you are only tuning to
that one satellite.  With a fix location installation, the oval dish can
receive all three satellites without moving, but with a RV satellite
antenna, which is a round dish and only receives a single satellite at a
time, you have to aim it at the correct satellite for the channel you want.
Directv also, from time to time, shifts which satellite is transmitting
which channel.  In a fixed installation, that is no problem, but on the RV,
that can make it a guessing game.  The three current slots are 101W, 110W
and 119W latitude, with a few more to come over the next few years.  Directv
is fortunate to already own additional orbital slots as well as technology
that should keep all their birds in close proximity to each other unlike
Dish which has birds all over the sky and requires separate dishes even in
fixed ground locations.
