Hi Ben,

You don't *need* a 4wd to tow your Airstream.  It's just really nice to have 
when you are on muddy campsites, or in slick grass.

An example would be the International rally this year in Lansing Michigan.  
Many people were parked by a tractor pulling the trailer into place, and pulled 
out later. many people never stayed at the airport but were around town in 
the parking lots of various businesses.

Those of us who had 4WD just pulled our trailers in and out with no problems.

I have used my 4WD many times pulling my Airstream and my horse trailer. I 
don't want to get stuck and have to get towed.

That said, you don't *need* it at all.  I see many people who don't have it.
