Joe,
You gotta take into account the gas mileage you would get with a regular gas
guzzler vs a diesel. Plus, you should be able to get 200-300K miles from
your diesel and half that from a spark plug p/u. 

I really like my '99 Dodge Ram Quad Cab with the Cummins and I tow a 73' 31'
A/S Landyacht Sovereign International. It gets 23 mpg on the highway w/o the
Airstream, 15 mpg with the Airstream and the truck hardly knows the trailer
is behind it. I understand Ford and Chevrolet have made a lot of
improvements in the diesel trucks since '99, but at the time the Cummins
diesel was the best in class.
