Bill,
My Turbo Diesel Suburban has 200 hp along with 400 lb ft of torque which
pulls my 59 Ambassador International very well. Although the VW may sound
adequate in the HP dept, I would imagine the torque output of this high
revving, tiny V6 along with the narrow track of the Eurovan is not well
suited to tow any sort of travel trailer. Gearing also has a lot to do with
it. VW has never been noted for stellar performance in their vans.
