I do not know if the bigger trucks use a different back end.  My owners 
manual said the additive was required on the 1500 but it did not list 
it in the 2500 nor 3500, this is what brought me to asking the group. 
I felt that people in the group might know why that is.  Perhaps you 
are correct the back end is different even though it has Posi-trac it 
may not require the additive.
