Re: [A/S] Best Tow Vehicle

Dodge calls mine a "Quad Cab". Apparently this is just a copyrighted
advertising term. We have a full rear seat for 3 adults with full knee/leg
room. My rear doors are 33.5 inches wide (I just went out and measured). I
think Dodge didn't have this body style until maybe 2002 or so. Mine is an '03.

I googled this up when looking for a definition of crew-cab vs
quad-cab: "Definition: Crew Cab is the term Chevy, GMC, and Nissan all use
to describe their four-door trucks. Also Known As: Quad Cab (Dodge), Double
Cab (Toyota), SuperCrew (Ford) "

I once switched brands because of a dealer story like yours: I wanted to
replace my old 3/4 T Supercab Ford truck in late '96. Ford dealer said they
couldn't get the 460 CI engine anymore. I went with the Dodge 488 CI V10
then because of that engine switch (Ford later came out with the Triton V10
series, but that was a year later, IIRC). In my case, this was costly for
Ford, because I have purchased 3 new Chrysler Corp vehicles since then. We
all tend to stick with brands we know, and now I know Dodge/Chrys. Next
sedan will probably be another Chrysler.
