I have first-hand experience on trying to regain control on an iced-over 
bridge. I knew what to do and immediately did it, but none of it made any 
difference. The car (solo sedan trip home from a restaurant in the evening) 
did what it wanted to do - period. Fortunately our car was the only one on 
that bridge that night, so we only hit the side railings.

This was my only attempt to regain control on ice. I might do better next 
time, but I hope there is NOT a next time.
