Re: [A/S] Snail mail forwarding.
One thing we have done in anticipation of travelling and not being here to
pay our bills, is to have them automatically deducted from our bank account.
We have been doing this for several years and there have been no hitches, no
wrong withdrawals etc. That is one way to cut down on the amount of mail
that comes to your house.
The other thing that happens is that the periodicals pile up inside the door
and what a feast of reading when we get home! Something to look forward to.
The other thing that Canada Post has done is to make it possible for bills
of your choice to be forwarded to them to be paid and you are sent an email
that they are due. We simply check our ISP's web site for email once a week
and got to the Canada Post web site to pay any bills.
Our friends have taken this to another level. When they travel, they have
their charge card bills deducted from their account, by pre-authorisation.
Works for them with no foul ups.
