Hopefully you are using OS X.3.xxx. Very stable. My set-up is a 15' 
Powerbook OS 10.3.5 with my LG 4400 cell phone. I bought a data cable 
to connect the phone to one of the powerbooks USB ports.

Works like a champ. Though the connection speed is very slow. We have 
the plan where weekends are free, so we do most of our on-line stuff 
Saturday and Sunday when we camp, if we decide that we even want to be 
in touch.
