Tom,  
 A longer trip time is going to mean even more "potty break pit stops" than
are required by a faster trip.  The body is not going to change its
intake/exhaust requirements or schedule just because the truck is not out of
fuel.  That consideration will make the slower trip even longer.

At the end of the day, all we have on this earth is our time.  Everything
else we leave here when we go.  We can buy more fuel, but we cannot buy more
time.
