Re: [A/S] MPH MPG Experiment
The desire was to see what would happen driving at 55 mph.
It was a real surprise to realize that
big of a fuel consumption reduction.
==========
I have gotten similar results with a C2500/350gas, towing about 6000#
65-70 = 10.5-11mpg
55 = 14.7mpg ave last trip of ~800 miles.
Intrestingly on a trip of 200 one way from Houston to Rockport which I make
several times a month the driving time is affected more by how long it takes
to cook a Dude at the Dairy Queen in Granda then my speed.
I wouldn't be supprised to see 2.50 to 3.00 / gal within a year, we will all
slow down.
Federaly mandated speed limit in the 70's due to the oil shortage was 55
everywere.
