[A/S] Towing with a "58 Chevy Nomad station wagon....

Hunter - great looking wagons - only a one year design.

As you cruise the country - keep you eyes and ears open for a 1958 Chevrolet
Nomad staton wagon with Air Suspension - I think they called it "Air
Poise"...and (it only cost $124)...and a 348 V-8 with a Turbo-Glide
transmission.

(a curious aside....the air suspension was not a success...the Turbo-Glide
was not a success...and the 348....well it went on to become the famous
409...so all in all that combination in one vehicle - that was still intact
today....you'd have a car that was not successful when new....and now
today...a huge success in terms of collectible value!)

The '58 Nomad is really - really rare...it's a 4-door wagon - yes a 4-door
that year - and it had the Impala trim with Nomad nameplates.  It's a true
oddball.  A four door Nomad...and the Impala that year was technically a
deluxe version of the Bel-Air line rather than a separate model

Chevy did not have great luck with "Air Poise"....and neither did the Buick
or Pontiac or Olds - Cadillac made it work for a couple of years.  Even Ford
had Air Suspension in '58..."Ford-Aire".  It too disappeared quickly.
