[A/S] Fridge not level - how long is too long
From what the fridge manufacturers say, running a fridge "while
sitting, not level, is cumulative" meaning that whenever you do it,
you are lessening the life of the item. When driving over hill and
dale, the ammonia in the coils in liquid state sloshes around, so
the level/not level question does not apply. With three way boxes,
which include the 12 volt capability, you can certainly run them
while driving. Most are two way. This means to run them while
driving, you must run them on propane, which some will do and others
won't. Many that are running on propane while driving blow out the
little flame, and so, essentially turn themselves off. Mine does
this, but other trailers I have had, and slide in campers too,
continue to run. This does probably increase possibility of fire.
But the question of how long is too long is relative to what you
feel is acceptable risk, and acceptable acceleration of wear out.
