[A/S] Caravel and WBCCI numbers
While we were out with the trailer last weekend, we had someone approach
us who was asking the value of an old Airstream that he had picked up
for $500. It was an early 60s Caravel. He had cleaned it up a little
bit but when I kept asking questions it sounded like the floor had some
rot, the water tank was shot, etc. We walked him through our trailer,
showed him the Fantastic Fans (that he loved) and then he asked us
about the numbers on the front.
Admittedly, we've never put our own numbers on our trailer - still has
the former owners on one end, the other still shows the ghosts of the
previous numbers. He mentioned that his had 10 on it. I checked the
recent book and notice their isn't a 10 anymore. Further, he said that
there was some kind of writing on the side that the trailer had been
personally made for xxx name.
I told him he should join the WBCCI and see if he could get those
numbers since he could probably document that they went with the
trailer. Any thoughts on whether they would give them to him?
