Re: [A/S] basecamp pictures
The interest in the Basecamp concept is not surprising given the large
"tent camper" market that wants something more than a tent and less
than a full trailer and the obvious towing limitations of the small
car market...
The large unique shaped "dark-plastic" window is a surprise and I am
betting it will not be inexpensive to replace... I think Airstream had
better get to work on a stainless "wrapper" that can be raised or
lowered to cover the plastic while in transit... I noticed, in the
picture, what seemed to be a rail above an below the "window" (wonder
if that is style or functional)
This size can probably be pulled by sports cars, compacts, vans, and a
host of folks that are nervous about the full size trailer, even the
Bambi....It will be interesting to see if buyers are there for the
combo tent, trailer or will be willing to be "sold up" to the Bambi...
Hopefully they will not be Burro or Casita prospects...
After three Airstreams, I know that perfect for me is not the same for
everyone, but a 25' with a permanent bed, airconditioning, shower,
full kitchen, full almost everything is very close...I doubt that
anyone with one of those for sale will want for prospects..If your new
Corvette is your only car, you might not agree...
I look forward to seeing one in a park some day and talking to the
people that are enjoying it..
