[A/S] Polish an Airstream

The $500-700 per foot data and similar estimates like it have been 
floating around the Vintage and Airstream lists for years.

In an attempt to make it even clearer, add in the number of labor hours 
you'll need to do the job (calculated from the day you order your first 
supply of parts to the day you take your shiny Airstream on her maiden 
run), and your hourly rate will become evident.  It might even take 
your breath away.

Just to play Devil's Advocate with you. Diminish/decrease your hourly 
rate by adding more time to the mix (??) --

1 - unless the job is done efficiently without mistakes (including not 
skimping on ladders and staging);

2- unless the weather cooperates with YOUR schedule;

3 - unless the owner of the local laundromat (commercial washing 
machines) doesn't ban you from his shop. If he does, you'll be buying a 
new washing machine and dedicating the old one to polishing rags/pads;

4- unless all the items on this year's "to do list"  are made up of 
ONLY lesser important items;

5 - there are more, you get the idea.

Perhaps unrelated to the polishing job are other factors to consider 
like time available to spend with your wife, your children, your dog 
and Sunday afternoon football games on TV.  Bottom line is everyone 
chooses their own addictions. OMHO, decisions are confessions of what's 
important to us (and the hourly rate).
