I had one in the late 80's or early 90's. I went all over with a 24 
foot bunkhouse and never had any trans. trouble. Mine had twisted 
flats in the tubes to slow the air down as it passed through. Can't 
give you any statistical data like kept temp. x degrees cooler, only 
can say never broke down due to trans. failure.
