Jim,

The reason that spot is not recommended is that on most coaches looking 
between the wheels can be confusing. The lowest thing you will see often 
times is the holding tank enclosure. Can't tell you the number of times 
we saw those crushed by well intended floor jacks.  At that point the 
frame rail is visible, it's just not the lowest point. We often used 
that point for wheel bearing repacks but then we were supposed to know 
what we were doing.
So if the tire guys knew or were lucky good for them, just be careful 
who you let shove a jack between  your wheels.
