I would probably use stainless steel screws the next time, but so far, 
so good.

Once you get it off, clean it(the fan and the trailer body) really well 
with mineral spirits. That will remove old caulk, and crud and won't 
hurt the clearcoat or the plastic. Then ressemble. You shouldn't even 
have to undo the wiring. I used Vulkem. It stays flexible and gummy so 
it really does the job and keeps doing the job. Clean up with mineral 
spirits and loads of paper towels. Kinda messy but it works. Don't play 
with Vulkem the day before a wedding, it takes a while to get the 
fingernails clean......Don't ask.....
