David,
Don't forget about lockers which lock both rear axles so that the tires turn 
at the same time.  Great in sand, mud, snow and rock crawling but tricky on 
ice.  They unlock when making turns but lock back under power.  The G80 
lockers in the Chevy and GMC trucks lock under low speed (I think under 30 
mph or a certain RPM) but open above this for good highway manners.
