My Dodge Cummins has a 5 speed standard trans. this is the 4th tow vechile 
that I hav had in the last 40 years none have had an auto transmition I have had 
no provlems towing or mavoring with that type trans.Having said that I belive 
that now that I have almost reached my 4score years if I were to replace this 
truck I would probably opt for an auto.
The manual transmition in the early Dodge Cummins was the weak link. I broke 
an imput shaft at 48 MPH on a level road in Mexico. Not a fun time gitting out 
but that is another story.
