Hunter,
Your campground host is wrong! Your a/c compressor is at risk..the 
voltage is way below the safe threshold. Even if it doesn't conk out 
now (which is possible and moderately probably) it will cause the 
motor windings to weaken and the condition will accumulate.

At 106 volts, I personally would almost rather spend an 
uncomfortable night than take the risk.
