Dan, did I miss something?  I went to Cingular's site and looked at their 
information on the Media Package.  From what I read, this package allows the 
phone to connect to selected Internet sites.  I saw nothing on the Cingular site 
where the Media Package could be used as a DSL connection between a computer, 
cell phone and the Internet.  Did I miss something?

This is an interesting topic, since I currently have a search underway on a 
good method to connect to my Internet account through my Cingular cell phone.  

The conventional wisdom at InternetByCellPhone (a Yahoo group mentioned 
earlier on this list) seems to be that the best way to connect a cell phone to an 
ISP is through Verizon.  They don't seem to think that Cingular is very 
Internet friendly.  

Since Port O'Call closed, we will not have a "fixed" winter home base, so we 
will not have a "hard" telephone line to the Airstream.  We are looking at 
alternatives for connecting to the Internet while on the road.

Another alternative for connecting to the Internet is WiFi.  This was a topic 
of discussion a few months ago.  On a recent visit to Flying J, I noticed 
where you could purchase a "card" that gives access to their WiFi.  Also heard 
where McDonalds is doing a test market on WiFi at selected locations.  Is anyone 
using WiFi while on the road?  If so, are you finding "free" access, or do 
you have to purchase an "access" card?
