Hello Michelle, You are right. Big difference, their rates are 
higher. (Not really when you figger in the price of gas per KWH.) The 
generation process is different. The power plants generate raw AC at 
incredible amperage, where the Honda creates DC voltage and runs it 
through an inverter to achieve AC voltage. The power plant sends you 
220 volts in either single phase or 3 phase in industrial 
applications, where the Honda provides only 110 volts. But the 
Honda's end result is clean AC power. The exact same as what is in 
your home. With a little less kick, but enough to wake you up if you 
get a jolt. It's a mini powerplant minor differences but essentially 
the same. My vote.....ground it, it can't hurt and takes little time 
and effort. AL
