You guys are making this way too difficult. I have run the 1000 and the 3000
for many, many hours without going through some complicated grounding
process. If your trailer wiring is in good shape, and the ground is not wet,
and the generator is protected from the weather, just use it. I have never
had a problem with either generator or had a 'hot skin' effect. If you think
of it, the trailer, while not plugged into shore power, is not grounded
either, unless your jack is touching the ground. Usual practice for most
folks is to set some sort of pad under the jack. If the jack touches the
ground, the generator is grounded through the trailer via the ground wire on
the cable.
