If you are going to run your generator on the tail gate of your pick 
up then you should do in get a very light welding cable and fasten 
one end to the ground lug on your generator and bolt a sharp steel 
peg to the other end.  When you run the generator drive the steel peg 
into the ground.  If you are on asphalt that is a problem.
The reason that I say welding cable is that it is made up of many 
fine strands of very fine wire and is very flexible, and has a rubber 
insulation that is soft and flexible.
