Congratulations.

I'd follow the instructions in the manual about oil/ oil changes, air 
filter cleaning and changes, fuel stabilizers etc.
I belive they say to use a stabilizer if you are storing it for more than a 
month or to.

If you didn't get a manual with it you can down load it at Honda.com

The gen and gas can ride well in back but they need to be  wedged in 
between other things to keep them from becoming projectiles.
