Hi All,
I just posted some numbers for the Duramax that were in my 2004 GMC Truck
book. The numbers for the Duramax after 12-01-03 were written in by the
Sales Manager from numbers off his computer. He put a "?" after the number
and said "this is still not a confirmed number by our service department
yet". I would take the numbers posted by Sam, sense they were taken from the
GMC Web site well after the change. It seems the Duramax Diesel is capable
of much more horse power just by changing the "program" in the onboard
computer, but the output starts to push the upper limits of the torque
ratings of the transmition if pushed above where they are now. I got this
from my service department and from the "Duramax Diesel" Yahoo List as well.
You can purchase "programmed Chips" that push the numbers way on up if you
like to play with your toys.
