[A/S] Decals and Decal Paper

Most definitely, it will fade.  You are only using ink jet ink, and 
that is water soluble in most cases.  So it may run too.  But peel?  
No, it probably will be the most difficult thing to peel off your 
dish that you can imagine.

This type of decal is Vinyl.  The printing is done with an imprinting 
of a non ink material.  It is almost like bonding vinyl to vinyl.  
This form of decorating with decal will last up to ten years in most 
cases (barring Texas to Arizona sunshine) and in the best vinyls the 
decals can last up to twenty years.  This would be exceptional, and 
would probably necessitate total non exposure to weather.  I have 
been stretching and morphing digital pictures for years, and then 
using them as vehicle graphics.  People at first and even second 
glance have no idea that there is an image in the decal, but after an 
extended exposure have been known to suddenly exclaim, "Hey, Your 
striping looks like there is a picture of a Harley in it, did you 
know that?"  To which I get to reply, yes, because it is a morphed 
digital picture OF a Harley (you can insert all kinda stuff instead 
of the word Harley, such as Wolf, Eagle, Ferrari, Mazzeratti, Horse - 
well I'm sure you get the picture.  Now, Trichia and Conrad, if you 
go to a graphic arts shop, and have the decal made onto vinyl, you 
could get years of enjoyment out of the appearance of your dish.  It 
will last as long as paint, and probably wouldn't be too much more 
expensive.
