    Lou, several years ago, I "inherited" a 1971 International Scout 
from my brother, who is a heavy smoker. The red and white interior was 
brown all-over. 
    I used Spic-and-Span. Mixed up a bucket at a time (it comes in 
powder form) and a light scrub brush. The brown RAN off the walls!  The 
interior was like new when I was done and the nasty stench (can anyone 
tell that I'm a MILITANT anti-smoker?) was gone for good.  It took three 
or four small buckets-full.  I've never found anything else since that 
does better.
