the vinyl is amazingly tough. I think acetone might eat it, but i've 
thrown everything else at it.

I like simple green cleaner. It is a powerful degreaser, my son uses it 
on his motorcycle. let it sit there wet for a bit and then take a 
scrubbing brush to it.

The Endcaps are made of a different plastic. This paint will come off, 
so go easy with the solvents and cleaners.

I've read that after it is clean a coat of kitchen liquid floor wax 
keeps it looking nice. Too shiny for me.
