Re: [A/S] Re: Savereign
Trim level as in Chevy Bel Air, Impala, Caprice. That kind of thing.
More stuff, more money,
Up through 1968 Sovereign denoted the 30' length trailer. In 1969, the
complete redesign Sovereign became the 31' and they started adding trim
levels. The first was the Land Yacht and the ultimate was the
International Land Yacht. Back then the differences were typically water
filters, awnings, sometimes interior fabrics
In 1973 they introduced the Excella package. Those coaches were loaded
to the gills with options including a counter mounted blender and every
other toy they could find.
In 1980 the Sovereign was dropped as were all size related model names.
That year they offered the Caravelle, International, and the Excella II
each in three sizes.
In 1981 they did another shuffle and offered the International and
Exella II in six sizes and the Excella Limited in two sizes.
1982 saw yet another shuffle with the International in two sizes, the
Excella in 3 sizes and the Limited in two sizes. This was the year the
34' triple axle was introduced.
The Sovereign was reintroduced in 1984 in 3 sizes as the base trim level
model.
The Sovereign was again dropped after the 1987 model year.
The Sovereign was again reintroduced in 1992-95 as a 21' trailer.
Hope this helps
