[A/S] Caravans/Berets, Week trips/Baseball caps

I think what some people forget is that the Blue Beret and the
Caravan go hand in hand. It's my understanding(I'm sure I will be
corrected if I am wrong), that the Blue Beret (as was the WBCCI
numbers)was put in place to help be able to tell people in the group
from the local people and to help keep the group together. I agree
being forty years young the Beret is a "Fashion Statement" and after
cleaning and and polishing a trailer I don't want to put a bunch of
numbers on the top. I still work, so a two to three week caravan is
out for me and my family. The great thing about the club is that no
one is holding a gun to your head to make you wear one, put numbers
on your trailer and spend three weeks on a caravan. So, maybe what
the readers of this list should do is, "Don't wear the Blue Berets"
and don't feel bad about it when you don't. If you don't have the
time or money to go on the caravans, don't. If you feel that in
the "Wally Byam WBCCI" tradition you have to do something, wear a
blue baseball cap with the patch on the front. Put together caravans
of a week(stay in Walmart lots only to keep down the price)and after
polishing your trailer put your numbers on a piece of paper and stick
them in your front window.
The club is what "you" make it. I have a blast in the club. I go to
the rallys I want too, when I do, I drink beer and smoke cigars. I
laugh and have fun. For many it is far easier to give 10 reasons why
something is bad than "doing" one good thing to make it better. If
you don't like the WBCCI the way it is, the club is "always" looking
for people to step up to the plate and help. When you help with
something you can help bring on change. If everyone starts wearing a
blue baseball cap with the patch, over time the powers at be will
think its cool and will want to be like you. Just remember one thing,
your children will think you look stupid!

Need to go get beer and cigars for the WDCU/CBR rally, so I will get
off my soapbox.
